Police Investigate Multiple Hit and Runs

Manassas City Police are investigating two hit and run incidents that occurred in the last three days.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, October 15, shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the 'Super Market' store, located at 8680 Liberia Avenue, according to police.

Witnesses at the scened advised employees they observed the driver of a red Ford station wagon strike two vehicles parked in the parking lot before exiting.

The offender was caught on the store’s video surveillance cameras purchasing a bag of charcoal just moments before the incidents occurred. He was described as a bald white male, wearing a black t-shirt.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to call police at (703) 330-0330.

 The second incident occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, October 17, shortly before 1 a.m. when officers were called to the 9900 block of Hampton Road to investigate a hit and run.

Witnesses told officers a dark colored vehicle had struck an unoccupied Ford pick-up truck, causing it to strike an unoccupied Toyota Paseo. 

A witness to the incident told officers the suspect parked the striking vehicle—a black Nissan Quest—and ran into a nearby home.

Several homeowners were questioned, but with negative results. This investigation is ongoing.
