Police are investigating after a 19-year-old Manassas man was allegedly run down by a suspect.

Police in Prince William County are looking for a suspect and a vehicle allegedly used to run down a 19-year-old Manassas.

Prince William County public information officer Jonathan Perok said officers responded to the area of Spriggs and Hoadly roads on Saturday at 2:54 a.m. They were informed that the victim, a 19-year-old Manassas man, and a known acquaintance had been involved in a physical altercation with an unknown suspect in the above area.

The suspect returned to his vehicle during the encounter and allegedly struck the victim as he and his acquaintance attempted to run from the suspect.

The suspect fled the area in the vehicle prior to police arrival, Perok said. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported. The incident does not appear to be random and police are continuing their investigation.

The suspect is described as a white male,  between 18 and 25 years of age, 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds with a thin build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and black pants. Police are also asking for the public's help in locating the vehicle used in the incident, which has been described as a newer model silver four-door.
