Police Arrest Third Suspect in Violent Burglary Attempt

Police have arrested a third suspect in a violent burglary attempt near Manassas that left a 66-year-old woman seriously injured.

Prince William County Police say James Arthur Moten, 21, of no fixed address, was located in Culpepper Monday. He was detained and is currently being held in a Culpepper jail awaiting transport to Prince William County, police said.

Moten is being charged burglary while armed, aggravated malicious wounding, abduction and use of a firearm by a convicted felon in a Dec. 14 burglary attempt and assault at a home on Khans Road that left the 66-year-old female homeowner seriously injured.

Police in the area are searching for a third suspect in a violent burglary attempt near Manassas that left a 66-year-old woman seriously injured.

Police say 21-year-old  James Arthur Moten , of 14307 South Hall Ct in Culpepper, acted as a lookout and getaway driver in the Dec. 14 attempted burglary and assault that took place at the victim's home in the 12600 block of Khans Road in Prince William County.

Moten is described as a black male, who is 6 feet tall and 145 pounds with numerous tattoos. He is wanted for for burglary while armed, aggravated malicious wounding, abduction and use of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Two others, 19-year-old Lee Allen Stark, of no known address, and 20-year-old  Cherish Autumn Posey, of the 12600 block of Khans Road, were arrested in Manassas City following the incident.

InsideNova.com reported Posey is related to the victim, who also knows Stark.

According to police, Stark entered the victim’s residence while she was not home in an attempt to carry out the burglary, while Moten acted as a lookout and get away driver.

The victim returned home during the burglary and was allegedly assaulted by Stark, who displayed a handgun, when she confronted him.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, police said. An investigation has revealed that Posey was also involved in the planning of the burglary.

Stark is charged with burglary while armed, aggravated malicious wounding, abduction and use of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held without bond. Posey is charged with conspiracy to commit a burglary with intent to assault. She was also reported held without bond.
