Police: Manassas Man Struck Repeatedly With Metal Rod

Minor injuries were reported, Prince William County Police said.

A man was hit several times with a metal rod during a violent encounter with someone he knew, Prince William County Police said. 

It happened Wednesday at a home on the 8100 block of Leland Road in the Yorkshire area of Prince William County when the victim, a 39-year-old man of Manassas, and the suspect got into an argument that became physical. 

At some point, the accused picked up a metal rod and struck the victim multiple times before leaving the scene.  He soon encountered officers on their way to the scene who detained and later arrested him. 
The victim reported only minor injuries. 
Floyd Lester Deavers, 55, is charged with malicious wounding. Bond information and a court date isn't available from police.
