Police: Manassas Suspect Used Facebook to Solicit Sex From Teen

Manassas City Police began an investigation after the victim told school officials about the suspect.

A Manassas man is accused of using Facebook and a cell phone to entice a teen boy into having sex with him, Manassas City Police said.

Jose Felix Mayorga, 30, of Appomattox Avenue in Manassas is charged with the use of a communications device to solicit a minor, which is a class D felony, Manassas Police Sgt. Lowell Nevill said.

Police found out about the incident on Monday after a 16-year-old boy told adults at his school that the suspect had solicited sex from him.

Investigators with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered the suspect had contacted the boy via Facebook and mobile phone and tried to entice him into a sexual relationship, Nevill said.

The suspect remains in custody at the Prince William County Detention Center without bond.

The case will be heard in juvenile and domestic relations court.
