Police Arrest Suspect in Bristow Bank Robbery

Prince William County police say the suspect robbed the Bank of America branch in Bristow Village just off Sudley Manor Drive.

A man who visited a Bristow Bank of America branch early Thursday returned to rob it later that day, Prince William County Police said.

Jules Emerson Coy, 20, of 10187 Broadsword Dr in Bristow is charged with
armed robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and wearing a mask in public, police said.

It happened at the bank branch at 12881 Braemar Village Plaza when a masked man entered the bank, approached the counter, displayed a handgun and demanded money.

He took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank on foot before possibly getting into a vehicle.

Witnesses told police they thought the man had been in the bank earlier that day and were able to identify the suspect, police said.

Police saw the suspect leaving his residence off Broadsword Drive in a vehicle and stopped the car. 

Evidence from the robbery, including clothing worn during the robbery, was recovered and the accused was arrested, according to police.

Investigators also conducted a search at the suspect’s residence where a replica firearm, gloves, mask and an undisclosed amount of cash were found.

He remains in custody at the Prince William County Detention Center. He is expected to appear in court in April.
