Prince William County Police are investigating the incident.

A burglary suspect decided to grab a ladder at the home he wanted to enter and apparently used it in his crime, Prince William County Police said.

It was 10 p.m. on Monday night on the 13700 block of Van Doren Road in Manassas when the homeowner heard a noise outside her house. She went outside to investigate and found a later that was normally in her unlocked garage, against the side of the house, police said.

She decided to call police about two hours later when she again heard noise outside her home. She went outside to look and found someone standing in her driveway.
The person ran away after the homeowner screamed at him.
Police arrived on the scene at about 12:37 a.m. but the victim was unable to describe or identify the suspect. Nothing was reported missing from the home.
