Police Release Sketch of Robbery Suspect

Police have released a composite sketch of the man believed responsible for robbing two students on their walk to school.

Manassas City Police have released a composite sketch of the man believed responsible for robbing one student and attempting to rob another on their walk to school Friday, Feb. 25.

Both victims described their attacker as being a 6-foot-tall black male in his 20s with a skinny build, who wore a d0-rag at the time of the incidents.

The first victim reported to police the suspect had a mole on his cheek and wore a black leather jacket and black pants at the time of the incident, which happened near the tennis courts on Prince William Street very close to Osbourn High School around 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25. During the incident the assailant displayed a hand gun tucked in his waistband and demanded the student's wallet. He fled the area with the student's IPod.

The student reported the incident to school officials upon arriving to school, who then notified Police.

In a separate incident, police said a juvenile victim came forward Saturday to report a man had attempted to rob him Friday, Feb. 25, around 7:15 a.m. on Signal Hill Road in front of Mayfield Middle School.

The victim told police he was walking to Osbourn High School when he was approached by a black male with a gun in his waistband, who demanded his wallet.

The suspect, described as having dreadlocks to his shoulders and wearing a green hoodie at the time of the incident, rode away on his green mountain bike toward Shoppers Food Wharehouse after discovering the juvenile victim had no money or wallet on him, police said.

Neither victim was hurt, police said.
