Police: Salon Latest Victim in Storefront Smash and Grab

Several incidents of similar break-ins in Manassas area in recent months.

Manassas City Police are investigating a new overnight storefront smash and grab — the latest in a string of similar incidents in recent months in the Manassas area.

At 5:37 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the Blanquita Beauty Salon at 9922 Cockrell Road regarding a burglary in progress.

Officers found someone had smashed the front door of the business and stolen an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register. 

The unknown burglars fled before police arrived.

A Sudley Road beauty supply shop was the victim of a similar crime earlier this month. 

Previous businesses that were similarly burglarized include: Dunkin Donuts on Liberia Avenue, a Gainesville storefronttwo businesses on Sudley Road and a trophy store on Liberia Avenue.
