Police: Self-Inflicted Gunshot Killed Suspect Fleeing Arrest
Suspect pointed a handgun at agents during chase, fled around a corner before shooting himself, according to Prince William County Police.
The suspect in an early-morning shootout Thursday died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to the Prince William County Police.
Douglas Clayton Lewis, 56, of Manassas, fled from his 9580 Covington Place home during the execution of a search warrant by U.S. Homeland Security officials, according to PWCPD spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok.

Local officers, members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Homeland Security executed the search warrant and arrest warrant at 6:30 a.m. at Lewis' home on the 9500 block of Covington Place.
"As federal agents approached the home, they encountered the suspect exiting the residence," Perok said in a statement. "The suspect ignored commands by the agents and fled down an alleyway in between two town homes."

When agents confronted him in the alleyway, Lewis allegedly pointed a handgun at the agents. One agent shot him in the lower body.
"The suspect then ran behind a fence area where he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and pronounced dead," Perok said.
