Police: Teen Stole Credit Card from All Saints Church Parking Lot

Manassas Police said the suspect used the stolen card at Manassas Mall.

A Manassas man stole a credit card from a car parked in a church parking lot, then used the card to make purchases at a local mall, according to the Manassas Police Department.

Vicente Medina, 18, is charged with credit card theft, forgery and fraud in connection with the incident.

It happened Feb. 10 at the All Saints Church on Stonewall Road in Manassas, when someone went inside an unlocked car in the church parking lot and took the card, Manassas Police reports show.

Financial records show the card was used later that day at Manassas Mall, which led to police identifying the suspect and a juvenile.

Medina remains in custody at the Adult Detention Center awaiting a court hearing March 20.

I'm sure the owner of the card was super grateful.

Using someone else's credit card is illegal . . . leaving a car unlocked ANYWHERE is just plain dumb.

Hey Brad, prejudiced much? Where in the article did it say he was illegal?

Actually both Visa and MasterCard PROHIBIT merchants from requiring customer ID as a condition for accepting their credit or debit cards. All you need is a signed card. Alot of businesses train their employees NOT to accept cards that have "ASK FOR ID" as this is not a valid signature. A VISA or Mastercard that is not signed is not considered valid and is not to be accepted per VISA and Mastercard guidelines. I think it is wrong of you to quickly blame this on employees if you don't understand the guidelines and regulations yourself.
