Possible Pipe Bomb Found in Manassas Business Remains Under Investigation

Manassas Police continue to investigate the make up of a suspicious package found inside an office building on Technology Drive Monday afternoon in Manassas.

Manassas Police were called to 9510 Technology Drive at 3 p.m. for reports of a possible explosive device, Manassas City spokeswoman Patty Prince said.

Virginia State Police later detonated the device and found evidence of "black powder residue," according to Manassas city officials.

In addition to Manassas and Virginia State Police, the FBI and officers from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also responded to the incident.

Technology and Foster Drives near the building which is home to the National Religious Broadcasters, were shut down Monday afternoon.

The incident remains under investigation by authorities.
