Prince William County Police Investigate Burglaries in Manassas

Police are investigating after two homeowners spook would-be burglars.

Series of Vehicles Burglarized in Manassas (20112)

Early Tuesday morning police responded to the 5900 block of Fincastle Dr in Manassas (20112) for a burglary in progress. The homeowner told police that an unknown man was seen inside their vehicle, which was unlocked and parked in the driveway.

The burglar reportedly used a garage door opener, which was in the vehicle, to gain access to the garage, where a second vehicle belonging to the homeowner was ransacked, police said.

The man fled the area on foot after being seen. Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate anyone. No entry was gained into he main residence.

A description of the intruder was not provided, but an investigation has revealed that 10 other vehicles in the surrounding area had also been tampered with.

Police INVESTIGATE Attempted Burglary on Gold Leaf Cir. (20109)

Also early Tuesday morning police responded to the 11300 block of Gold Leaf Cir in Manassas (20109) for the report of a burglary in progress. The homeowner told police they awoke to a suspicious sound and observed an unknown man inside the house who fled out of a rear door after being noticed.

Entry is believed to have been made though an unsecured door, police said. No items were reported missing. No description of the intruder was provided to police.
