Second Student Reports Being Robbed on Way to School

A second student has reported to police that he was robbed while walking to school Friday.

Police in Manassas City are now investigating two robberies that occurred near area schools last Friday.

Police said a juvenile victim came forward Saturday to report a man had attempted to rob him Friday around 7:15 a.m. on Signal Hill Road in front of Mayfield Middle School.

The victim told police he was walking to Osbourn High School when he was approached by a black male with a gun in his wasteband, who demanded his wallet.

The suspect has been described as a skinny black male in his 20s around six feet tall.  At the time of the incident, he wore a do-rag on his head with dreadlock-style hair hanging to his shoulders and a green jacket with a hood.

Also on Friday, another student reported being robbed of his IPod near the tennis courts on Prince William Street on his way to Osbourn High School around 9:30 a.m. Again, the victim told police the suspect had a hand gun in the wasteband of his pants.

The suspect has been described as a six-foot-tall black male in his 20s with a skinny build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a do-rag, black leather jacket and black pants. Police said the suspect had a distinctive feature that may help bring him to justice: a dark mole on his right cheek.
