Summons Issued Against Manassas Man Whose Truck Killed Arlington Mother

Summons for failure to pay full time and attention.

A Manassas man who was driving a truck that killed an Arlington mother of three as she put her child in a car seat has been issued a summons.

Marvin Valladares, 33, was driving the dumptruck when it struck the woman, Jennifer Lawson, 39. She was was putting her 2-year-old daughter into her minivan in front of Nottingham elementary.

Valladares was issued a summons for failure to pay full time and attention, according to WTOP. He had stayed at the scene of the crash and cooperated with investigators.

The driver-side rear door of the van was sheared off by the force of the crash. The child wasn't hurt.
