A homeowner on the 9700 block of Sudley Manor Drive reported that she was asleep in her home when she heard the sound of grass breaking. Additional officers who were checking the neighborhood stopped a vehicle with three men inside. The men were leaving the area, and two of them had injuries "consistent with breaking glass," said Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department, in a press release.

Perok said that another man had a handgun which had been reported stolen.

"Following an investigation, all three men were connected to the burglary and were subsequently arrested," Perok said, in the release.
