VRE: Trains to Run As Scheduled in Light of Navy Yard Shooting

Trains will run as normal, including those servicing L'Enfant Plaza, officials said.

Virginia Railway Express commuter trains will run as normal Monday afternoon in light of the shootings at the Washington Naval Yard, officials with the rail service announced Monday afternoon. 
"VRE is saddened by this senseless tragedy and our thoughts are with those families impacted today's events at the Navy Yard," officials said in an email sent to riders. "In light of the events unfolding at the Navy Yard, we wanted to reach out to our riders to inform them of how this might impact service and their commute this afternoon.

If anything should change, VRE employees will notify riders immediately.
