Children Charged With Setting a Fire on Taney Road

The children stole a neighbor's gas can and used it to set a fire behind a row of townhouses, Manassas City officials said.

Firefighters say two Manassas children are responsible for starting a fire behind a group of townhouses on Taney Road in March.

Each suspect is charged with one felony and one misdemeanor count of unlawful burning, according to a press release issued by the City of Manassas.

The children, who both live in the Georgetown South community, told a City of Manassas Fire Marshal they stole a gasoline can from a neighbor's house and used the fuel to ignite a fire in the common area behind the townhouses on Taney Road on March 12, a fire marshal said.
