Manassas Welcomes New City Manager This Week

Pat Pate officially began his role as city manager on Monday.

Manassas staff officially welcomed a new leader to the city on Monday. 
This is the first week on the job for city manager Pat Pate, who was hired by
Manassas City Council in early September and attended his first city council meeting as manager on Monday. 

Retired city manager Larry Hughes served as the interim head of the city until Pate's first day on Monday. 
Before coming to Manassas, Pate served as the High Point, N.C. assistant city manager for 14 years. 
In that role, he oversaw the activities of finance, budget and evaluation; customer service,communications, information technology, systems project administration, public services, engineering services, facility services and parks and recreation.  

Before becoming assistant manager, Pate was the budget and evaluation director for the city of Greensboro, N.C.
