Parrotheads Blamed for Construction Delays…Again
Interchange improvements near Jiffy Lube Live amphitheater may wait until after Jimmy Buffett concert.
For the second year in a row, road construction in the Bristow area will likely be delayed until after a Jimmy Buffett concert at nearby Jiffy Lube Live amphitheater.
This time, it's work on the $216 million interchange improvements at Lee Highway and Linton Hall Road. County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart tells WTOP the delays are unofficially due to concert traffic.
"We do know that they are very concerned about Jiffy Lube Live and the concerts, especially the Jimmy Buffett concert," Stewart told WTOP.

A summer staple, Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Refer Band will perform at Jiffy Lube Live on Aug. 16.

Last summer, VDOT leaders delayed the opening of a new $200 million Gainesville bridge because it was scheduled for the same weekend as a sold-out Jimmy Buffett concert at Jiffy Lube Live.
