Police are urging anyone with unwanted prescription drugs to turn in their medication on Saturday during the National Drug Take Back at Novant Health Prince William Medical Center in Manassas.
The purpose of the take back is to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
Intravenous solutions, injectables or needles won't be accepted on Saturday. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine won't be accpeted either.

Prescription drug abuse in the U.S. is common and so are accidental poisonings and overdoses on unused drugs left in homes.
Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends.
Anyone can come by between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and drop off the drugs, no questions asked.
Neighboring jurisdictions will also collect unused prescription drugs on Saturday.
The Manassas Park Police Department located on Manassas Drive will also be accepting prescriptiond drugs.
Other take back locations in the area are Heathcote Health Center in Haymarket and Sentara Lake Ridge in Woodbridge.
