Tell Us: How Can State Fix Route 28?

New Virginia Department of Transportation study looks at busy road, particularly corridor from Manassas to Interstate 66.

Virginia Department of Transportation officials will be looking at the best way to fix Route 28, the busy commuter route that cuts through Prince William and Fairfax counties.

The corridor heading from Manassas toward Interstate 66 near Centreville is of particular interest as a growing choke point for traffic, according to a WTOP report.

The $2.5 million study seek ways to address the congestion, but Marty Nohe, chairman of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority told WTOP that the solution may not be more lanes.

"We're going to need a lot of community input," Nohe said.
