The little city of Manassas Park’s community center received big votes this week in the Patch Readers' Choice poll.
The received the most votes in the poll, garnering 28 percent of the 21 votes received.
When we asked to comment on the community center getting the most votes, City Parks and Recreation Director Catherine Morretta turned to 4-year-old Isabella Nallana, who said, “I like the community center because I get to spend time with my friends in preschool and like to color and learn the ABC’s! I love snack time too!”
Well said, Isabella, the children of Manassas Park and beyond surely echo your sentiments.
The community center, located at 99 Adams St. in Costello Park, is fairly new to Manassas Park, but has already become an important place for community activities, meetings, fitness, sports and, of course, children’s activities.
In addition to housing a licensed daycare, the community center is the home of biddy ball, youth football and youth soccer leagues.
This spring and summer the community center is also offering children’s classes on creative writing, dance, acting and science, to name a few.
