Funeral for Osbourn High Student Joshua Tyler Long is Tuesday

The 16-year-old died Monday of complications stemming from the flu.

The funeral of an Osbourn High student who died earlier this month is planned for Tuesday in Manassas, according to a Pierce Funeral Home obituary.

 Joshua “Josh” Tyler Long died Monday, a little more than a week after his 16th birthday at Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C.

 The teen died of complications stemming from the flu, several news media outlets reported.

His friends and family describe Joshua as a kind person who enjoyed cooking, art and being with the people he loved.

 His family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Pierce Funeral Home at 9609 Center St. in Manassas.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 1p.m at the Manassas Baptist Church at 8800 Sudley Rd. in Manassas.  

Joshua will be laid to rest at Stonewall Memory Gardens.
