Manassas Schools to Show STEMuseum, Tetrahedron Project

Metz middle and Round elementary will be holding presentations on Thursday.

From Manassas City Public Schools:

The elementary summer school students will present a STEMuseum, Thursday from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. at . Their focus is on "Saving Our Planet: One Student at a Time." You are invited to see student presentations on local wild animals, environmental vehicles, alternative energy, and conservation ideas. Students will share how natural and urban environments can coexist.

As part of the curriculum this summer, the 7th and 8th grade students at have read the novel All of the Above by Shelley Pearsall. The novel is about a group of inner-city students who band together to form a Math Club and attempt to build a tetrahedron (a math term for a pyramid of triangles that are connected to form an expanding pyramid) that will get them in the Guinness Book of World Records. As an exciting end and to celebrate the hard work the summer school students have put in, you are invited to stop by Metz on Thursday, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. for their Family Day. The students plan to build their own Metz version of the tetrahedron created in All of the Above and would love to have you visit.
