Mayfield Students, Families Celebrate Diversity

Mayfield held its International Night earlier this month attracting over 500 students and their families.

Mayfield held its International Night earlier this month and an estimated 550 students and their families showed up. 

Food from more than 20 countries was sampled and those in attendance enjoyed cultural presentations.

 "This continues to be one of our most well-attended events at Mayfield each year," said Mayfield Principal Jeff S. Abt. "Obviously students and their families enjoy sharing their diversity with one another."

Participants brought in many homemade dishes representing countries as diverse as Burma, Laos, Rwanda, Palestine, southern United States, Philippines, Italy, El Salvador and Germany.

Presentations included students performing cultural dancing and singing and presenting information and photos about their native countries.
