"We are excited to be opening another Children of America (COA) location in Manassas," said Thad Pryor, Children of America CEO and founder.

"Our educational curriculum, value added programs and advanced security measures allows us to offer the best value in the market.  This is our fourteenth school in Virginia and we have current plans to open an additional two-three more in the state. We offer a unique environment for learning and a highly qualified staff that's dedicated to helping children learn and grow on an intellectual, physical, social and emotional level."

A core part of the academy's curriculum is its Mind & Body Matters program, according to the release.

Mind & Body Matters provides three distinct programs that encourage a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition, fitness and learning outside of the classroom. The programs are the COA Just Read Program, the An Apple A Day Nutrition Program and the COA Presidential Fitness Program.

"We developed these programs because we believe in the importance of helping children develop a love of the written word, healthy eating habits and a healthy respect for physical fitness," Pryor said.

The new school in Manassas is part of an effort to expand Children of America into more than 60 locations by the end of 2012.

"In addition to our grand opening in Manassas, we have had recent grand openings in Pennsylvania, Indiana and New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio and other locations," Pryor said.

With the opening of an additional 10-14 schools in 2012 and 2013, the company will add about 350-450 new employees to its existing staff of 1,500.
