Weems Elementary School is set to receive a $1,000 donation from Bull Run Plaza of Manassas.

The good news was made possible after the local shopping plaza featured a contest during the 2010 holiday season, when shoppers were encouraged  to submit the name of a local school they believed deserving of the monetary donation.

Weems parent Crystal Turner participated in announcing the big news to the winning school and its members.
