Eagles Dominate Raiders, 55-12

Osbourn bounces back with huge victory over Stonewall

Osbourn (6-3, 2-1) got back on track Friday night as they defeated Stonewall Jackson High School (4-4, 1-2) 55-12.

The Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. After the Raiders fumbled the opening kickoff, Santoni Scott scored on a 10-yard scamper only 15 seconds into the game. This play set the tone for the rest of the game, as Osbourn scored on all six of their first half possessions.

“We just played really good ball,” Head Coach Steve Schultze said. “We got out of the gates early and never looked back.”

Senior running back Cedrick Delaney led the offensive onslaught with 235 total yards, 180 of them coming on the ground while adding a 35 yard reception and a 20 yard pass. Delaney scored on two rushing touchdowns and junior quarterback Connor Lane contributed both a rushing and passing touchdown, finishing the game with 111 total yards of offense.

“We really spread the ball around. A lot of people got touches tonight, it was really a fun game,” Schultze said.

The Eagles defense also played well, containing both the Raiders rushing and passing attack to fewer than 100 yards. Stonewall only accumulated 81 yards through the air and 94 yards on the ground.

The win helped clear the playoff picture for Osbourn. With Battlefield defeating Broad Run on Friday, the three teams are now tied atop the Cedar Run District. Osbourn wraps up the regular season next Friday as the host Freedom-South Riding.
