Eagles Open District Play Against Bobcats
Cedar Run District football powerhouses face-off Thursday night.
Osbourn faces its first—and likely toughest—district game as they host Battlefield tonight at 7 p.m.
The Eagles are coming off a four game win streak, but will that be enough to propel them to victory?
"Battlefield is always good. They are well coached and don't shoot themselves in the foot, so we need to be aggressive," Head Coach Steve Schultze said. "I'm excited, it's always a great game."

Although this is the first district game of the season, it carries a little more weight than a normal district opener. Since 2005, Battlefield or Osbourn has won the Cedar Run District title.
The Eagles are reigning district champions and the Bobcats are reigning AAA Division 6 state champions. The match-up has all the ingredients of a great high school rivalry.

"This is a huge game and both sides know it. The way the district is now, you can't afford more than one loss," Schultze said.
As with any great rivalry, some of the area's top performers will be on display. Osbourn has been led by Senior Cedrick Delaney, one of the area's top rushers, while Battlefield has found success under quaterback Ryan Swingle, one of the area's top passers.
The game will be played tonight at 7 p.m. in observance of the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur.
