Osbourn Approaches Final Regular Season Game

The Eagles host Freedom-South Riding for regular season closer, is there a playoff game in their future if they lose?

Osbourn (6-3, 2-1) looks to end the regular season on a high note as they host Freedom-South Riding (1-7, 0-2) on Friday night.

After getting off to an unusually slow 0-2 start, the Eagles have won six of their last seven games. Their only loss came on the road against Broad Run by a single touch down.

This week's match-up is the last game of the regular season, but not the last game of the season if Osbourn can defeat Freedom—a team that has struggled all season. With the win, Osbourn will be in good position to continue into the postseason.

Going into the final week of the season, Osbourn, Broad Run, and Battlefield all sit in a three-way tie atop the Cedar Run District. If all three teams win this weekend, the district championship would be awarded to the team with the highest power points ranking.

According to Osbourn Head Coach Steve Schultze, the rankings would favor Battlefield for the district title, but Osbourn would still be in the playoff picture.

Editors' Note: The school's athletic calendar states the game against Freedom will be played at OHS at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and is the Eagles' homecoming game.
