Osbourn Looks to Rebound Against Stonewall

The Eagles battle to remain among the top in Cedar Run District

The Eagles (5-3, 1-1) look to bounce back from a loss last week as they travel cross town to Stonewall Jackson High School (4-3, 1-1) Friday.

Osbourn suffered a crushing 27-20 defeat last week at Broad Run High School in the final minutes of the game. This loss snapped a five-game win streak; one that helped propel the Eagles to the top of the Cedar Run District and put them in contention for another district championship.

Despite the loss, Osbourn is far from out of the championship race. Broad Run faces another Cedar Run powerhouse in Battlefield this Friday.

The Eagles must handle business this week against the Raiders in order to remain in contention. Stonewall, like Osbourn Park, is a school whose close vicinity to Osbourn usually makes for a great cross-town matchup.

Stonewall is coming off a bye week and boasts some of the area's top performers. Running back C.J. Burnes ranks second in the area in rushing with 799 yards while quarterback Kenny Finzel ranks second in the area in passing with 801 yards. Osbourn running back Cedrick Delaney leads the area in rushing with 1,087 yards on the ground.

This is the final away game of the regular season for the Eagles; they wrap up the season at home against Freedom-South Riding on October 28.
