Volunteers have raised about h who was found seriously injured after escaping from his abductor last month in Manassas.

Original estimates for the surgery on the dog's leg were as high as $6,000, but then that amount was reduced to $3,000, said Melissa Korzuch, president of the Prince William Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or (PWSPCA).

Thankfully, the Veterinary Surgical Referral Practice in Manassas agreed to operate on the dog for about half the cost, Korzuch said.
