Local Charity Event to Help Joplin Humane Society

Reines RV in Manassas will be sending donations to Joplin Human Society, taking in 100 dogs a day after deadly storms.

Reines RV in Manassas is hosting a charity event this weekend in its parking lot to benefit the Human Society in Joplin, Missouri, which is taking in about 100 dogs a day displaced after the deadly tornadoes that ripped through the city.

The event will include a charity BBQ Saturday in the parking lot of Reines RV, located at 10850 Balls Ford Road, from 12-3pm. The public is encouraged to attend and bring old towels and blankets, food and laundry detergent, among other items,  to be sent directly to the Joplin Human Society for use.

Dogs are also welcomed, said event coordinator Jennifer Reines.

The event is free but donations, such as gift cards to PetSmart and Wal-Mart,  are welcomed and appreciated.

Reines saw on the Joplin Humane Society's Facebook Page  how much stuff they needed to take care of all the dogs coming in and decided to take to her Facebook to spread the word.
