Manassas Church to Hold Benefit Concert for Family Grappling With Illness, Death

The concert is 7 p.m. Sunday at Manassas Baptist Church. Donations for the family will be collected before and during the benefit.

The music community along with a local Manassas church is rallying around a family of six who has recently grappled with the burden of illness and an unexpected death.

Jacques and Emily Rancourt adopted Lily Grace and Mackenzie Ty from China in 2012, Becky Verner, director of the Manassas Chorale wrote in an email to Patch.

"The girls have thrived with the love of a family, which includes older sisters Dryden and Soleil, but have had a number of medical procedures and surgeries due to Lily’s heart problems and Mackenzie’s untreated ear infections before her adoption," she said.

The family suffered a huge loss on May 6 when daughter Addy Hope was stillborn.

To help out, the Manassas Baptist Church is hosting a benefit concert on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary to raise money to offset the costs of the Rancourt family's medical costs and expenses related to Addy Hope's memorial service.

The concert will feature violin, piano and vocal solos, a clarinet duet and performances by the Manassas Chorale and the church's Sanctuary Choir, accompanied by the chamber orchestra.

Here is a list of musicians set to perform at the concert. All are performing Sunday for free:

Singers Bill Lacy and Jerry Pankey; clarinetists Catlin Beare and Danielle Frazelle, violinists Laura Giz Frazelle and Samantha Kline; pianists Patricia Parker; Tuyet-Minh Tran; Madelyn Kline and Matthew Wampler.

An offering will be received at the concert and checks will be accepted at that time, organizers said.
