Pole Dancing, Love Charley Ribbon Cutting and Pure "Nun"sense

Plus a Cornucopia, a chocolate factory and some nonsense nuns, all this weekend in the Manassas area.

We So Love Charley. Love Charley, a brand new boutique in Old Town Manassas will have its ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday at 10:30 a.m. The new store is located at 9015 Center St. Additionally, there a 15 percent coupon on the Love Charley Facebook page. Print it out and bring it with you to the grand opening for a discount. 

Still Feeling Patriotic? 
The U.S. Navy Concert Band is putting on a performance from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stonewall Jackson High School. A few outstanding student musicians from the school will join the band.  Get more info here.

Life on the Pole. 
The Manassas location of Aradia Pole Fitness is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the franchise on Friday at 7:30 p.m.  Aradia Fitness was founded in Canada in 2003 and opened a location in Manassas earlier this year. 
The Manassas location is at 9705 Liberia Ave. Suite 398, just above Gold's Gym. 

That's Some Nunsense. 
Rooftop Productions presents the play Nunsense on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory's Kellar Theatre.  Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for students and those 65 and over. Read more about the play and purchase tickets here.  

Jazz for Justice. The last Jazz for Justice concert is 8 p.m. on Friday at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas. The performance will feature Catherine S. Croft, president-elect and director of the Prince William County Bar Foundation Inc. as special guest conductor. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. Miles for Maddie
. Join the Manassas Park High School cheerleaders and the band from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the high school track for the Miles for Maddie, a fundraiser to help a young girl fight cancer. Registration requires a $15 donations while registration for children is just $10. Can't make it? You can donate to Maddie's cause here on the website Give Forward.  

Cornucopia. Swing by the Arts and Crafts Cornucopia in Manassas Park for some unique gifts and do-dads on Saturday from 9 to 2 p.m. at the Manassas Park Community Center.  

Candy Factory Takes on the Chocolate Factory.
 The Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory's production of  Willy Wonka Jr., a play about a famous chocolate factory, will hit the stage Saturday at 7 p.m. at Metz Middle School in Manassas. Fall in love all over again with the characters from Ronald Dahl's book, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" played by more than 40 local young actors.

Can't make it Saturday? There's a production on Sunday at 4 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at the Center for the Arts website

Manassas Annual Neighborhood Conference The 7th Annual City of Manassas Neighborhood Conference is Saturday from 10  to 4 p.m. at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College at 6901 Sudley Rd.
The conference will show residents how to use local resources to bridge cultures, education and service in our neighborhoods.  The conference features free training to educate and empower residents at adult seminars and a youth café.   There will be exhibitors, door prizes and free lunch for all participants.

Chugging Into Town. Model train enthusiasts will be showing off the latest offerings in the popular hobby with Prince William Model Railroad drop-in events throughout the weekend. Free. 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Chinn Park Regional Library, 13-65 Chinn Park Drive, Woodbridge.


Spirited Journey. Traditional dancing, festive costumes and folk music combine in the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble’s “Hungarian Rhapsody.”  From $30. 8 p.m. Saturday. Merchant Hall. Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas.


Voices on the Stage. The audience at the Workhouse this weekend will get a special preview of the latest work from playwright God’s Boo. Actors will give a staged reading of  “Choose!!” The play centers on a church congregation held hostage. $10. 8 p.m. Saturday. Workhouse Arts Center, 9601 Ox Road, Lorton. All Over the Map. Music students and enthusiasts are going to get quite the lesson this weekend. World Blues at George Mason University features music legend Taj Mahal, performing soulful tunes from across the globe with some friends. From $23. 8 p.m. Friday.
