Shanghai Ballet, Simple Gifts and Turkey Trot 10K

 Whimsical Galerie Semi-Retirement Sale.  A staple store in Old Town Manassas is going out with a bang this month. The store is offering 20 percent off wind chimes, Christmas decorations and gifts.  Friday is Treasure Hunt day and on Saturday, customers can bring in a receipts from any Old Town Manassas business and receive double prize points. 

Open House at Elements Diet and Fitness. Members of Elements Diet and Fitness, a women's gym and diet facility in Manassas is hosting an open house on Friday. Members can bring a friend and try classes for free. Friday is also the last day of the gym's SERVE Food Drive, so come by and donate your canned goods and packaged items. 

Parent Teacher Organization Holiday Shop. The Manassas Park PTO is planning a holiday shop on Sat. from 9 to 2 p.m. at Cougar Elementary School. The address is 93330 Brandon St. in Manassas Park

Slimming Before Trimmings. The Turkey Trot 10k at Quantico is sold out, but there are still spaces for the Turkey Trot Mile fun run. Take photos with live turkeys and see the finish line petting zoo. See our complete list of regional Turkey Trots.

Puppets on Life. The Cahmore Marionettes present “Simple Gifts,” with puppets performing everyday activities to the sound of classical music. $15 for adults, $5 for children. 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Merchant Hall. Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas.

Country Music Idol. Before he heads back to judge “American Idol,” Keith Urban will be taking the stage at the Patriot Center. Urban has more than a decade of pop-friendly country hits under his belt, including “You’ll Think of Me” and “Somebody Like You.” From $40.50. 7 p.m. Saturday.
