in response to Rick (11/12). Sorry for your loss, but it is normal, legal practice (and our responsibility) to dispose of a patients medications after a death; we would be negligent if we left narcotics in the home that were not prescribed to you. As far as starving your wife to death: it is normal and part of the dying process for people to stop eating and eventually even refuse fluids. The body produces endorphins that naturally keep the patient comfortable and they have no discomfort from hunger . I respect your grief and sorrow, but had to address your review with facts that I hope will assist you in understanding the dying process.
Any hospice would have done the same. As far as over-medicating goes, often larger and larger doses of pain meds are needed at the end of life. God bless you, and I hope this helps.

Ellen Richardson, Gainesville Lake Manassas Dr. - Awful awful heartless doctor - saw her arrive late (in the parking lot) to her first appt with us and saw she had not read the records. Ignored existing test results and tried to recreate a whole new erroneous diagnosis (since she had not read the medical records!) Second appt, she had lost the paperwork we had given her at the first appt. It just got worse with every visit and she was always so arrogant and utterly lacking in compassion.

I wish I had never chosen them for my wife's last days. They over medicated her and she starved to death, but because she was so medicated she didn't know what was going on. I just pray it was painless. Then when they were done, they stole all her medications when they left. I asked for them back but they refused. I guess they think they're above the law, As for me, I'll be filing a lawsuit. Wish me luck!
