Jeanie Dean Elementary School is named after Jennie Dean, who in 1893 founded a vocational school for young blacks. Today, that site is now home to the elementary school and the Jennie Dean Memorial. The school is committed to preparing all students to succeed in a diverse and technologically-advanced society.
