Manassas City Police Department To Issue ‘Slurpee Tickets’ For Good Deeds

School’s almost out for Summer and kids in Manassas may actually look forward to their next encounter with the “heat” this summer, thanks to 7-11 stores’ popular Operation Chill program that rewards positive behavior with a very cool treat. Through Operation Chill, Manassas City Police Department officers can “ticket” youngsters caught in the act of doing good with Slurpee beverage coupons.  Appropriate “offenses” might include helping another person, deterring crime or participating in a positive activity in the community.  Each coupon can be redeemed for a small Slurpee drink at participating 7-11 stores.  Since the program’s inception in 1995, more than 12 million Operation Chill coupons have been distributed to hundreds of law …

Is this like a couple years ago where the police were pulling people over for driving well to give them some kind of $20 dollar gift certificate (maybe it was even less). I know I thought that was crazy. Police offiers shouldn't be able to just pull people over who are not breaking any laws. What if these people have schedules and things they need to do. Can You ID: 7-11 Armed Robber

Manassas City Police have released surveillance images of a suspect who entered a 7-11 store on Godwin Drive armed with a gun and demanded money from the store clerk.

Manassas City Police (MCPD) are looking for a man believed responsible for robbing a 7-11 clerk at gunpoint early Tuesday morning. According to Lieutenant Brian Larkin with the MCPD's Investigative Services Division, police responded to the 7-11 store located at 8901 Godwin Drive for the report of a robbery on May 15 at 1 a.m. The clerk told arriving officers the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. Police said the suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash on foot or possibly a bicycle. The suspect is described as a white male, early to mid twenties, 5’6 tall with a skinny build.  He was clean-shaven at the time of incident and was wearing a black baseball hat with white writing on the …

Suspect Robs 7-Eleven with BB Gun

A man armed with what appeared to be a BB gun targeted a local 7-11 for cash and cigarettes early Friday morning.

A man armed with what appeared to be a BB gun targeted a local 7-11 for cash and cigarettes early Friday morning.  Manassas City Police (MCPD) Sergeant Eddie Rivera said the robbery occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. Friday when a black male entered the 7-Eleven store, located at 10438 Dumfries Road, displayed what appeared to be a BB gun and demanded cash from the store clerk, who complied. The suspect then told the employee to give him a couple of cartons of cigarettes before ordering him to lie on the floor. Police said the suspect was able to flee the area with an unknown amount of cash. The suspect was described as black male, approximately 20 years old, 5’8” tall and 170 – 190 lbs. Another Vehicle Stolen While Parked at 7-11

Manassas City Police are investigating after a vehicle parked outside of the 7-11 convenience store on Mathis Avenue was stolen late Wednesday night.

Manassas City Police are investigating after a vehicle parked outside of the 7-11 convenience store on Mathis Avenue was stolen late Wednesday night. Police said the owner of the 2003 Ford truck left it unattended around 11 p.m. Wednesday at the 7-11 store located at 9166 Mathis Avenue, while he went inside to purchase items. The victim exited the store to find his truck, which he left unlocked and running, had been stolen. The truck was valued at over $8,000. Another vehicle was stolen from in front of the Mathis Avenue  7-11 store back in August, according to police. It happened between 10 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. on a Saturday, police said.
