Three local men face charges after they apparently tried to break into a Manassas area home Sunday, Prince William County Police said. Jose Santos Ortiz, 18, of no fixed address, was charged with attempted burglary, destruction of property, obstruction of justice and possession of marijuana. Fidel Enrique Guevara, 20, of Community Drive in Manassas, was charged with attempted burglary. Andy Lewis Webster, 20, of Brookstone Court in Manassas, was charged with attempted burglary while armed, destruction of property, posession of a concealed weapon and possession of a stolen firearm. No one entered the building and nothing was stolen.
Prince William County Police are investigating a report of an attempted burglary of a local auto dealer. Employees at Select Auto Sales on Centreville Road in Manassas reported on Oct. 12 at 8:55 a.m. that several doors were forced open. The attempt appeared to have occurred between 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 and 4 a.m. Oct. 12. Police said it appeared that no one had entered the building and nothing was reported missing. Someone also attempted to break into the Allyssa Bryn Accessories store, according to Manassas City police.
A handgun, cash and an identity card were stolen from a local home last week, Manassas City Police said. A resident of a home on the 8800 block of Oliver Ct. reported that the burglary occurred before 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6. Police said there were no signs of forced entry and the front door might have been left unlocked accidentally. In an apparently unrelated incident, someone also tried to break into the Allyssa Bryn Accessories store last week, Manassas City police said. A man accused of several attempted burglaries in the city was arrested in the parking lot of a local preschool Thursday, police said.
A man accused of several attempted burglaries in the area has been arrested.
