Police: Man Accidentally Shot Friend

Christopher E. Bohn, 36, of Manassas, was charged with willfully discharging firearms in a public place.

A Manassas man was arrested on Saturday for accidentally shooting a friend while reloading his gun, Fairfax County Police said Monday.  Christopher E. Bohn, 36, was charged with willfully discharging firearms in a public place. Police said he was at a restaurant with the victim, 22, and her friends, when he reloaded his gun. While doing so, he accidentally fired, striking the victim near her ankle.  Officers responded to 14441 Brookfield Tower Dr. in Chantilly around 5:30 p.m. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. No one else was injured.

Management Company Investigates Near-drowning at Local Pool

"We interviewed staff and witnesses...the lifeguards were in position," said Continental Pools, Inc. Vice President Nick Terrebrood.

The pool management company that serves more than 400 accounts in the area, including Westgate Community Pool in Manassas where a 4-year-old nearly drowned last week if it weren't for a 9-year-old patron, has conducted an investigation into the incident. Continental Pools, Inc. Vice President Nick Terrebrood said the company has completed its investigation, which found that the lifeguards on duty were doing what they were supposed to be doing. "We interviewed staff and witnesses...the lifeguards were in position," Terrebrood said.  Terrebrood said the lifeguards were rotating or "switching chairs" around the time the near-drowning occurred, which is something he says is procedure to keep the lifeguards vigilant. Area Men Charged in Fatal Gang Fight

Two local men wanted for gang participation and the violent assault on a teen who later died have been arrested and charged. The following arrest information was supplied by the Manassas City Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two local men wanted for gang participation and the violent assault on a teen who later died from his injuries have been arrested and charged, according to police. Manassas Police Sergeant Eddie Rivera said that Justin Lee Finley, of Gainesville,  and Stephon Damont Greene, of Manassas, were both apprehended in New Jersey on May 30 and are awaiting extradition back to Virginia where they are facing charges of alleged gang participation, aggravated malicious wounding and assault by mob. The two suspects were featured as Manassas City’s "Fugitives of the Week" in April, after they allegedly attacked 19-year-old John Jackson II on March 17 in in Manassas City. I would like to see the City of Manassas, Prince William County, Dumfries and Manassas Park add more officers to their Gang Task Forces. There is money and am sure many officers would step-up to the job. Until they get more than the small amount of officers they currently have dedicated to the task force they cannot keep up with those maggotts. Women Charged in Georgetown South Fight

Officers said they used a taser to break up the fight after those involved ignored officers' commands to stop fighting.

Three women between the ages of 19 and 28 have been charged in connection with a fight that broke out in Georgetown South Friday. According to Manassas City Police, officers responded to the intersection of Byrd Drive and Aspen Place for a report of a fight at about 2:20 p.m. April 13. Police noticed several females fighting upon arrival, and had to use a taser to break up the fight after the women ignored the officers' commands to stop fighting. Three women were arrested: Leann Renae Harris of 9251 Byrd Drive was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice in the incident. Three Charged After Jumping Off Tracks to Avoid Train

One of the three men was taken to a Fairfax hospital after authorities said he jumped into a Clifton ravine to avoid an oncoming commuter train headed for Manassas.

Three men are facing trespassing charges after one of them had to jump into a Clifton ravine just north of Manassas to avoid an oncoming Virginia Railway Express train. The men—ages 19, 20 and 31—are facing misdemeanor trespassing and trespassing on a railroad track charges, according to Robin C. Chapman, spokesman for the Norfolk Southern Corporation. Their names have not been released. The Fairfax County Police Department reports that the men were hiking through the woods in the Hemlock Regional Park in Clifton on the afternoon of April 4 when they came across a railroad bridge. As they crossed the bridge, they encountered the oncoming train. Two of the men made it across, but police say a third jumped to avoid being struck by a train. …

Seton Teacher Accused of Sending Sexually Explicit Texts to Student

A Seton School teacher has been charged with attempting to engage in an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old student.

A Seton School teacher has been charged with attempting to carry on an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to Manassas City Police. Zachary Jude See, 23, of 4605 Fillingame Dr. in Chantilly, was arrested April 2 and charged with one count of attempting to engage in indecent liberties with a minor. Parents of the 15-year-old victim met with investigators on March 27 regarding possible inappropriate activity between their child and the child's teacher at Seton School in Old Town Manassas, according to Sgt. Eddie Rivera with the Manassas City Police Department. Daycare Providers Charged with 5 Counts of Child Endangerment

The investigation stems from the death of a 3-month-old girl reported yesterday in Bristow.

Police in Prince William County have arrested a Manassas woman, charging her with five counts of child endangerment after an infant was found dead yesterday in a Bristow home that also served as a daycare. Police said 50-year-old Yolanda Gracelia Larin, of 8602 Weems Road in Manassas, and 42-year-old Mirna Mendez, 42, of Woodbridge, were both charged with five counts of child endangerment following an investigation into the death of  a three-month-old girl at a home in the 13200 block of Sapphire Ridge Place in Bristow. Police said the the five counts were placed for children less than 12 months old, who were also present at the daycare when detectives arrived to investigate the death.  Both are Larin and Mendez are being held without bond…
