Two Children Arrested in Grant Avenue Mob Assault

The victim told police he was confronted by a group of young people he knew.

A boy was assaulted and robbed by a group as he was walking near Byrd Drive and Grant Avenue, Manassas Police said. It happened at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the intersection of the two streets. The victim told police he was confronted by a group of boys he knew and least two of them started attacking him and tried to take his cell phone. Police arrested two boys in connection with the incident, but are still on the lookout for more suspects. Police: Cashier Stole Money From Patron's Wallet

Manassas City Police Officers say a local 7-Eleven cashier was arrested accused of stealing money from a patron's wallet he left in the store.

The victim, a 43-year-old male, told officers he returned to the store to retrieve his wallet that he accidently left behind, when he realized  a large sum of money was missing from it. An investigation revealed that cashier, Koy Wol Lee had removed the money from the wallet before placing it in the men’s bathroom. Police: Man Assaulted by Large Group

The victim, who officers found injured and lying on the ground, said he was attacked by a group of 10-15 people.

The Manassas City Police Department (MCPD) began investigating an incident Tuesday night involving a man who said he was assaulted by a large group just outside Old Town. MCPD Sergeant Eddie Rivera said officers were patrolling the area of Grant Avenue and Prince William Street Tuesday at 11:40 p.m. when they found an injured 24-year-old man lying on the ground. The victim told officers he was assaulted by a group of 10 to 15 people; he could not provide officers with a description of his attackers. Police are continuing their investigation. Police Cruiser Crashes on Emergency Call; No Serious Injuries Reported

A family is displaced after a police cruiser struck their home Friday night.

No one was seriously injured when a Manassas City Police officer responding to an emergency lost control of his cruiser and struck two other vehicles and a house on Grant Avenue, police said. The incident occurred Friday, March 23, shortly before 9 p.m. when the officer was responding to an emergency call for assistance in the area of Buckner Road and Grant Avenue.  All parties involved were transported to Prince William Hospital and released a short time later, according to MCPD Sgt. Eddie Rivera. The Manassas City Fire Marshall’s Office determined the house that was struck unsafe for occupancy until repairs could be made.  Red Cross was assisting the residents of the home. Quick update on this. It was disclosed at last night's council meeting that the officer was responding to an emergency call by another officer who was being assaulted. Also, MCPD officers trained in accident reconstruction will be handling the investigation into the crash.   more ›

Police: Car Stolen Along Grant Avenue

The car was left unlocked and running, police said.

Manassas City police are investigating after a car was stolen along Grant Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Monday. It happened in the 9600 block of Grant Avenue, where the suspect(s) drove off in a 1999 silver Pontiac Grand Prix. The victim told officers he left his vehicle unlocked and running, according to police, while he got something to eat. The victim told police he witnessed someone leaving the parking lot in his car and chased after them, but was unsuccessful.   The victim could not supply the officers with the suspect’s description. The stolen vehicle was described as a 1999 silver Pontiac Grand Prix (see picture).
