Postal Service to Remain Tenants in Old Town Post Office Building

The building on Center street is now owned by the family that owns City Tavern.

The historic building at 9108 Center St. will continue to be the home of the U.S. Post Office, despite the building changing ownership in November. Brothers Peter, Tim and Nick Veltsistas, owners of the neighboring City Tavern on Main Street, placed the winning bid on the building last month. The Veltsistas paid $355,000 for the building to the U.S. Marshals service, which seized it after its previous owner was convicted of federal fraud charges, according to News and Messenger reports. U.S. Marshals, Task Force Apprehend Fugitive

Authorities took Armando Uvario-Romo, who was wanted in Stafford County for sexually assaulting a minor, into custody Tuesday.

Law enforcement officers captured a Stafford County fugitive at his girlfriend's home in Manassas Tuesday morning, the U.S. Marshals Service announced.  Armando Uvario-Romo was wanted in Stafford County for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old, according to a Marshals Service press release. Authorities said that he was living at his girlfriend's Manassas home, even though she was aware of his criminal history. The girlfriend tried to conceal Uvario-Romo's location by ignoring police presence at the front door, while he tried to flee out the back, the Marshals Service stated in the release.  A task force consisting of law enforcement officers from the Diplomatic Security Service, Fairfax County Sheriff's Office made the arrest. Should have been handled on a more local Basis. The Diplomatic Security Service have bigger fish to fry. Our local law enforcement has more then the experience to handle this situation when it comes to apprehending this dirt bag.
