Crime Blotter: Attempted Burglary at Auto Dealer

No one entered the building and nothing was stolen.

Prince William County Police are investigating a report of an attempted burglary of a local auto dealer.  Employees at Select Auto Sales on Centreville Road in Manassas reported on Oct. 12 at 8:55 a.m. that several doors were forced open. The attempt appeared to have occurred between 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 and 4 a.m. Oct. 12.  Police said it appeared that no one had entered the building and nothing was reported missing.  Want Manassas news and information in your inbox? Old Treasures and Traditions retail building on busy Centreville Road slated for demolition.

The old Treasures and Traditions retail building, located at 9023 Centreville Rd., is slated for demolition, according to City of Manassas staff. Director for the Office of Community Development for the City of Manassas Elizabeth Via-Gossman told council members at their last meeting that the property, which was for sale at one time, is on the same track as the house at 9300 Prescott Ave., which could be demolished as early as September. The city is in the process of preparing bids for demolition of the Treasures and Traditions property for council to consider when they return from an August recess. The store was called Manassas Treasures. If you look close you can read it in the photograph. I sold the store and property in 2003-2004. "Treasures" was my baby for almost 20 years. The new owners also purchased Willard Press next door. I think they bit off more than they could chew. I hope they are able to put up a new building. I would like to see more places that help people. Suspect Takes Aim at Bystander with Tractor-Trailer

A man is in custody after he allegedly used a tractor-trailer to destroy several vehicles and attempting to run over a bystander watching it all happen.

A Bristow man is in police custody after he allegedly used a tractor-trailer to destroy several vehicles and attempted to run over a bystander that was watching it all happen. Ronald Lee Frame Jr., of the 9000 block of Falcon Glen Ct., in Bristow, VA was arrested after a brief pursuit Sunday, police said. Police charged Frame with felony destruction of property, attempted aggravated malicious wounding and reckless driving.  Manassas City Police Sergeant Eddie Rivera said Monday that police were called to the Convenience Car Care center at 9145 Centreville Rd. shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday to investigate a vandalism incident. Lone Manassas Blockbuster Store Closing

Residents will now have to go to Lake Ridge for the closest storefront.

The Blockbuster store in The Manassas Junction Shopping Center is closing on Feb. 19th. All used DVDs are selling for $9.99 or less, according to a store employee.Video games are also 20 percent off. Blockbuster customers will now have to go to Lake Ridge, which will be the closest location after the most recent store closing and the location on Dumfries Road closed about a year ago, according to the employee. Those who still want to check out DVDs can check them out from Redbox, which has several locations nearby, including  the Giant grocery store in the same shopping center, Bloom Market and the new Walgreen's  at the intersection of Sudley and Centreville roads and the 7-11 located on Liberia Ave at the intersection with Euclid.  There…
