VRE Operations Board Meets to Discuss Fares
Board meeting scheduled for Friday, April 20.
The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) Operations Board meets Friday, and their agenda includes a vote on whether to approve a proposed 3 percent fare increase. If adopted, the increase would take effect the first week of July 2012, to coincide with the start of FY2013. The increase for both monthly and single-trip Manassas riders would be as follows: VRE is a transportation partnership of: The commuter rail service operates 29 trains from 18 stations serving the Northern Virginia suburbs to Alexandria, Crystal City and downtown Washington, D.C., along the I-66 and I-95 corridors. Services began in 1992.
