Police Investigate Potential Link Between Necklace Robberies

Prince William County Police said there could be a tie between three recent necklace robberies in the Manassas area.

In less than a week, at least three Manassas residents have reported that a man stole necklaces from around their necks—and Prince William County Police say that there may be a link between the strong-armed robberies.  The first robbery occurred on Sept. 26, around 4:33 p.m., near Hiram Ct. and Notre Dame St., when a 56-year-old man reported that a stranger assaulted him, stole his necklace and ran away. He did not report any injuries.  The suspect was described as a black male between 18 and 20 years old, six feet tall, about 150 pounds, with a thin build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants.  Just a day later, at 5:58 p.m., a 44-year-old woman reported that an unknown man grabbed the necklace from her …

Police: Robber Stole Necklace From Pedestrian

The 56-year-old victim reported that a stranger robbed him near Hiram Court and Notre Dame Street in Manassas.

Police are looking for a robber who stole a necklace from a 56-year-old man in the area near Hiram Court and Notre Dame Street in Manassas on Sept. 26.  The victim reported to police that he was walking in the area around 4:30 p.m. when a stranger approached him. The robber stole the necklace, assaulted the victim, and fled on foot. No injuries were reported, police said.  Police are on the lookout for a six-feet-tall black male between 18 and 20 years old, about 150 pounds, with a thin build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and pants.
