3-year-old Found Walking Alone on Manassas Sidewalk

A Manassas woman was arrested Monday night after her 3-year-old child was founding walking alone on a neighborhood sidewalk.

The 25-year-old mother, who isn't being identified because it would identify the victim, of the 7600 block of Staunton Circle is charged with felony child neglect and is being held on a $10,000 bond, Prince William County Police reports show.

E-911 dispatchers received a call just after 8:15 p.m. about a child walking along on the 10500 of Winfield Loop.

Police arrived on the scene and found the child, who was able to lead them back to his home where officers found his mother unresponsive and intoxicated, reports show.

Investigators soon discovered the child was left unsupervised for about 45 minutes, but wasn't harmed.
