Police: Man Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run in Manassas

Suspect charged with felony hit-and-run and maiming as a result of DUI, according to Prince William County Police.

A Manassas man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident along with a passenger in the fleeing vehicle, Prince William County Police said.

The driver, Ludvin Rogelio Ramirez, 22, of Abingdon Court, Manassas, is charged with felony hit-and-run and maiming as a result of DUI. The passenger, Perez Hernandez, 19, of Wellington Road, Manassas, is charged with felony hit-and-run and intoxication in public.

Police responded on Tuesday at 9:09 p.m. to Thong Pan Road, where a 60-year-old Manassas man was struck while driving a 1989 Mercedes 560SEL eastbound on Wellington Road. Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, according to police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok.

Perok said that Ramirez was driving a 1997 Honda Civic southbound on Thong Pan Road when he tried to make a left turn onto Wellington Road. Ramirez accelerated through a stop sign and crossed paths with the driver of the Mercedes, Perok said.
