Yellow Brick Road: Wizard of Oz Auditions this Weekend in Manassas

The production of the play is Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 in Manassas.

Actors and actresses are preparing to audition for a role in a local production of one of the most recognizable musicals in history. 

Auditions for the Wizard of Oz begin Friday evening and continue through Saturday at the Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory in Old Town Manassas.   

Rising stars between the ages of 8 and 18 are welcome to audition for any of roles, including that of the Wizard, Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Lion as well as munchkins, witches, jitterbugs. 

Casting directors are expected to make call backs on Sunday with rehearsals each Monday Wednesday and Friday beginning Oct. 21, said Anne Ridgway, theatre director for the Center for the Arts. 

The performances are Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on the George Mason University campus in Manassas.
